June 19, 1865 - Gordon Granger, a Union general, reads the words of freedom to enslaved African Americans. Two years after the inital declaration of the Emancipation Prolamation, freedom finally reaches the last slaves of Texas. Each word releases an emotion of hope. This day has become known as Juneteenth.


To celebrate this momentous day, we encourage you all to support local black owned businesses. We have attached two list for the local Pittsburgh area.
